minutesAt the risk of bragging, we must tell you all: Sorry guys: Our Sangria recipe is the BEST, period! Sangria is a delightfully spicy and refreshing party treat, and GREAT sangria is an immensely popular conversation piece.
Ingredients
2 cups very strong hot tea (green, black, red, white), decaf OK
A dozen cloves
5–6 cinnamon sticks
A few pieces fresh ginger
2 bottles dry red wine, chilled
350ml canned frozen pineapple juice concentrate with no sugar added (or any other juice concentrate, or lemonade concentrate)
1 orange, cut into medium-thin half slices
1 green apple, cut into medium-thin half slices
1 lemon, cut into medium-thin half slices…
…or 1 lime, cut into medium-thin half slices
2 tsp peppercorns
Directions
- Mix the first set of ingredients in a teapot, and let it steep and cool completely.
- Strain the mixture into a large pitcher.
- Add the wine, juice and fruit.
- When your sangria mixture is all ready, taste to see if you like it sweeter and add a little honey, sugar, or even juice concentrate.
- Keep the sangria chilled. No ice.
- Serve with some of the sliced fruit in each glass.
Notes
- Variation:
– White sangria – Green tea, dry white wine, light-coloured juice concentrate just as apple, orange or pineapple (no cranberry, red grape, or pomegranate). Proceed just as above.
